Changing the Battery in Your Mini Key Fob

You can fix your fob by following a few steps. First, ensure that the battery is new. Remove the battery from the ignition, then press the lock button rapidly three times.
Battery
Change the battery in your key fob is among the easiest fixes. The problem is that interference can sometimes hinder this communication. For example, if you have your second-generation Apple Pencil charged while you're holding the fob, it may stop you from unlocking the car (via iGeneration).
Other electronic devices operating on the same frequency can also interfere with the fob's signal. This could include garage door openers and tire-pressure monitoring systems. Even a transmitter inside your home could be interfering however it is difficult for an expert to test.
Your key fob might require reprogramming. The transmitter inside your key fob must be recognized by the Mini's receiver. A unique code is then generated for each pairing.
